Laurie (publicover) grew up in HRM and graduated from Dalhousie in 1966. Laurie began her teaching career in Halifax, Charlottetown and Edmonton. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Alberta in 1980. She worked as an administrator in Edmonton Public Schools until she took early retirement in 1994. Laurie moved back home to Nova Scotia to paint full time.

Laurie does commissioned paintings in oil, acrylics, or watercolor -often with a “maritime” theme. She can create a memory for you by painting your family home or cottage, and even your sailboat! She enjoys doing mural work and also teaches art lessons. There are print/reproductions of many of her paintings.
